Check this out!
Ken sent us in these photos – “I wanted to make my Converse Chuck Taylor’s a bit different so I put a layer of black sugru over the normally white toe area. I roughened up the surface before applying, trimmed off the excess and was able to smooth it over before it was completely cured.” Looks like he smoothed it out at the end with soapy water to get that smooth glossy finish, and probably trimmed with a scalpel gently at the edges to keep them really neat… wanna share how you made these so neat and perfect Ken?

Yes!
- I rolled Sugru flat like a pancake with a glass jar so it was about 1-2mm thin.
- I made sure it was bigger than the shape of the toe area.
- Trimmed the excess with an X-acto blade.
- And then, with moistened fingers, smoothed it out until it looked like it was molded from the factory.
