Ahh... am I missing something? What is sugru?

This awesome project was sent to us by Kirsty in Melbourne:

“I fashioned a macro lens for my phone! I got all excited about it & now I’ve made a how-to so you can do it too.  I used some bits of a broken lens (lucky I don’t chuck stuff out) and sugru – it was a quick & easy project.”

And the results look amazing! Check out this close up photo she took with it!

Kirsty’s how-to makes this look super easy…

For all of you buying a new phone today, protect it and relax!
Team sugru are out in the queues today with gift-hacks at the Apple stores in London, our friends from Holstee are gifting them in the New York queues and our friends from Inventables are gifting in Chicago.

Most popular use of white sugru?

We launched white sugru last month after you guys begged for it :) As you might have guessed, the loudest group shouting for white sugru were apple-y people. Macs, it turns out, often need a little tlc to keep them in good shape – so we made a video inspired by your loving repairs (you know who you are), which we see again and again in your photos. Tell any of your mac buddies that don’t have some!

Personally, orange is still my favourite for apple repairs though!

blackberry hack

Clare (the inventor of the trabasack – check it out) has a disability that makes it difficult to hold her blackberry so she made this little handle for it from wire, leather and velcro… and now sugru! The sugru makes the handle generally more robust and stops it catching in things so easily as when it was raw wire. Cool texture too!

Mike sent back this cool project. Neat hack!
“I wanted to make an adaptor for my phone to connect to a standard USB cable. Here is what I came up with using sugru. It worked perfectly.”
