Ahh... am I missing something? What is sugru?

sugru ♥ LEGO [warning, may cause excitement]

#
Filed under: Wonderful Hackery, inspiring stuff, inventing, making, tip

Lego is most people’s all time favorite toy right? When we saw Adrian in New York’s and Mike in Utah’s hair for lego men, we got inspired!

Take note: Unlike LEGO, sugru isn’t a toy. While it’s still soft and squidgy, sugru is for grownups, not kids, so keep it away from those little guys. Once sugru has had time to cure, it’s safe for everyone.

There are so many awesome things you can do by combining the two, this is just the beginning.

Here’s the first of many:
Add LEGO bricks to your monitor and your stuff to keep them neat and tidy!

Keep an eye on gurus and instructables for lots of lego related how-to’s coming v soon…

I just finished a series of hacks, as some of my Sugru was expiring this month. This open a whole new world of excitement to me !!!! Just love it.

Can you guys make a tube of sugru? ;)

Wait ’til my 8 year old son sees this – so cool!

Brilliant!! One of those “how could I have not thought of this before” moments while watching :)

Nice! Never thought about the uses with LEGO.

Great film, but I really wish I was at home, where my Sugru is, instead of on my lunch break at the office. The video gave me too many ideas of how to fix things/make life better!

Fabulous possibilities!

I AM excited over this. I have some expired sugru that I haven’t come to terms with throwing away. Would it still be applicable for something like this? Seems to me it would.

Thanks everyone! It’s true, there are so many possibilities! @brendan, we can’t make a tube of sugru as it’s too stiff to push through a nozzle, and it needs a higher moisture to stay fresh. @Jason depending on how old your sugru is, if it’s still moldable then yes and we’d recommend you leave it cure for longer to give it the best chance of getting as tough as it can :)

I noticed in your “egg down the stairs” video that you boiled the egg with the Sugru on it; will this help it set faster, or is it just to stop getting raw egg on your stairs.

Ali wright on December 21, 2011 at 2:03 am

Hi Ali, nope, the sugru was cured at that stage, we were just playing around and demonstrating that sugru is heat resistant (stable to 180ºC)
In fact, we only ever tested with raw eggs, so during the course of the experiments, we got lots of eggs on our stairs ;)

Epic idea. :D Just had to stick few pieces of Legos to one end of the table as a holder for random little objects. For example, added flat lego block piece to battery cover and now my table has removable external battery. :D
