Sugru is the new self-setting rubber for fixing, modifying and making stuff.

Hand formable

Hand formable

Sugru can be formed and shaped by hand for up to 30 minutes once it has been removed from its packaging.

Sticky

Sticks to almost anything

Sugru forms a strong bond to metal, ceramics, glass, wood and some plastics like perspex and ABS and rubbers like silicone and butyl rubber.

Air cures

Air cures at room temperature

Sugru is like modelling clay when you take it from its pack. Once it's exposed to air, it cures to a tough flexible silicone overnight using the moisture in the air.

Add a focus marker to a Canon lens Upgrade an inexpensive lens

Add a focus marker to a Canon lens

I had a bit of leftover sugru so I added a focus marker to my 50mm Canon lens. The 50mm f1.8 is a great little lens and the cheapest one that Canon makes, as can be shown by its completely plastic construction. It also has no focus marks on the lens body so I decided to add one with a small piece of sugru, shaped into a nice little pointer. It's placed on the left hand side of the lens when attached to the camera so I can feel the sugru with my hand even when I'm using the viewfinder. By @solarmechanic, via sugru gurus (bit.ly/Oq0hd4)
