Build more shoes storage

I have some wooden Ikea-type shelves, that can be stacked on top of each other (you can see the little dowels on the top shelf - these go into a hole on the bottom of the other set of shelves).

I have applied sugru around and on top of the dowels, covering them in a pyramidal shape and then placed another set of shelves on top of the first one. I have than removed the sugru in excess and left it to cure for 72 hours, as sugru here is not directly in contact with air.

The fix worked very well. Unfortunately the photos don´t do it justice as the colours all blend (I used red and white sugru), but I can lift the shelves, shoes and all.

And more importantly for me, I can drag and sweep in one move; before it was annoying to have to stop sweeping, and lift up the shelves and move. Otherwise everything came apart and I had to tidy up everything.

So one more battle won for a non-lover of housekeeping!
