Create a magnetic desk mount

I recently started a new job, which meant setting up a new desk with some of my personal items: giant monitor from home, various desk toys, mouse pad, and an S-curved back massager.

The back massager presented a bit a puzzle: in my home office, I just mounted a traditional hook to the bottom of my desk and hung it from there. The new office, however, has some rather nice motorized sit/stand desks [photo #1], which I didn't want to damage. (Also, in the event that I decide to change desks later, I'd rather not have to pull out a screwdriver.)

Fortunately, I also recently acquired a relatively inexpensive 3D printer [the Printrbot Simple 1405 Maker's Kit, if you want pictures or links], which enabled the following hack:

1) Design and print a custom bracket that fits snugly onto the desk.

2) Use the Sugru + Magnets Kit to mount the bracket to the back massager.

3) Hang the back massager securely from the edge of the desk.

Nothing earth-shattering, but it was a very satisfying combination of techniques that resulted in a relatively good-looking project.
