Create a Nintendo 2DS game holder

My son has a handheld gaming system (Nintendo 2DS) and he carries it with him everywhere he goes. He has two favorite game cartridges that go with him as well. The first game IN the 2DS so it is no problem. The second game, however is (or was) the issue. It would get left on a table or in the seat of the car or the worst, in a pants pocket headed for the wash.

I decided Sugru was the answer. With one pack of Sugru, I rolled it out and framed around a game cartridge onto the back of the 2DS. I pressed the Sugru over the edges of the cartridge and then I wiggled the game out after a couple of minutes. I pressed the Sugru down just a little bit so the game would have be pushed into its place. Finally I cut it evenly at the bottom and used that part to add a couple of feet on the other side so the device would sit level. I gave it 24 hours to cure and it couldn't be better if it came from the factory. What a wonderful hack.

Now my son never loses his extra game and can take it with him safely everywhere he goes. The red matched nicely as well.

You could use this technique to add a holder for 4 extra games on the back of the 2DS.
