Make an archery arm protector comfier

One of my hobbies is Archery (Recurve Bow). I have been enjoying the sport for some years now. For some two odd years I have been searching for a material to make a custom grip for my bow, hoping to improve my performance. One of our Archery Club members came across sugru. He has modified is existing grip and is very pleased with the result. I helped him a bit and must say I am very impressed with sugru, I thought it was about time I had a go myself! 

I intend to make a complete custom grip instead of modifying an existing one. Before I do this I wanted to try sugru on a smaller (read: less expensive) object first, my arm protector. The finish on the straps is very crude and uncomfortable on the skin. This is something sugru surely can remedy, and it did. By @nestboxliveyahoocom, via sugru gurus
