Make an electric guitar safer to place on the floor

I play in a band and my Jackson RR electric guitar is my pride and joy - not only does it sound amazing, it looks totally badass. The problem is that due to its shape, when you put it down it rests on the spikey bits - a lot of pressure on such small areas - and the paint has long been chipped off because of this. The second, and more serious problem, is that if you place it on a hard surface (like my wood floor) there is the tendency for it to slip and fall to the ground with a sickening clatter if you are not very careful. This until I bought some sugru! As you can see I moulded a small amount around the spikes which covers the chipped paint, but more importantly it gives the guitar a non-slip surface so I can put it down without fear of it crashing to the ground and making me cry - not something that a rockstar should be doing. Thank you Jane and sugru!

I've done the same fix on my acoustic guitar! http://sugru.com/gallery/make-an-acoustic-guitar-safer-to-place-on-the-floor
