Make BBQ tongs into an assistive tool

I use a wheelchair and I need to use tools to reach high objects on the shelves of supermarkets. For this I use long BBQ tongs, but as they are of a metallic material they have little grip.

sugru has been the solution, now I can grab things without danger of slipping. Xavi, Barcelona.
