Make the strap of a Knog bike light magnetic

It is an acknowledged design fault with Knog straps. They are replacing them for free. What happens is over time stretching the strap results in a small tear near the clip which eventually works right through and pops off. They are great lights apart from this.

I wanted to join the magnet to the flexible part of the light. I know the suggestion was to attach to the light body for more security, but I would have had to move the other magnet from under the stem.

I had a go at joining to the flexible plastic. What I did was to fix a piece of metal behind the plastic strap so magnetism would help hold it together. I stuck the metal to the magnet and strap with plastic weld. I then used the sugru to cover the join and finish everything off neatly. The pictures show the light from two different perspectives.
