How to upcycle old sneakers
My old Vans were pretty destroyed but still really comfy, and the material in working state so I just could not throw them.
Kit
- Sugru, I used 20g
- Spray paint
- Old fabric, I used the legs of cutted jeans
- Adhesive for crafts
Step 1
Make sure that the surface is dry and clean
Step 2
Don't hesitate to use Sugru on any damaged parts
Step 3
Last summer I cut my jeans to have shorts so I used the left over fabric to make new insoles, I used other shoe insoles as a template.

Once Sugru was cured I sprayed the shoes with spray paint
Step 6
Added new shoe laces, the insoles, and I Sugru-ed the toecap to reinforce and waterproof it. Today I cycled under the London rain and only my feet stayed dry.
* note: as you can imagine the paint spray does not bond to Sugru and after one use it goes, in my case I wanted it to be like that, but you can colour mix the Sugru to get the colour of the paint.
