How to repair chipped terracotta pots / lids
Terracotta pots with chipped lids - fixed with sugru
Kit
- 1 pack of black sugru (but only use one sixth!)
- 2 packs of yellow sugru
- 1 pack of red sugru
- An old knife
Step 1
Use the colour match chart and start to mix yellow and red, it takes a little while kneeding the sugru together before you can see the colour result, then make adjustments to get the colour to match your pots / pot lids.
Step 2
I used 2 packs of yellow, 1 pack of red, and you can see from what's left in the black packet how much of that I used to get to the ball of sugru bottom right.
Then break the sugru down into manageable sizes to mould onto the chipped out parts of the pot lids above with fingers.
I used the knife to get a smooth finish once I had created the basic matching shape with the sugru to fill the chipped areas.
Step 3
I then let the sugru dry and set overnight, put the seals back on the lids and they are now pretty good.
