My talk at TEDx Dublin - Can we all be fixers?
I was thrilled to be invited to speak at TEDx Dublin last month. It was a fantastic event, and it gave me a chance to reflect on some of the big questions we're thinking about here!
* Fixing stuff - what's the big deal? Why are we so passionate about helping to get the world fixing again?
* Is it possible for anyone to become a fixer? ... a hands-on, practical problem solver?
* What makes someone start fixing?
I explored these questions through some of our favourite fix examples from the sugru community, watch the video - maybe yours is in there!
Some of the other talks were fantastic, particularly Aris Venetikidis on designing better public transport maps for Dublin, Aoife McLysacht on genetics and where ideas come from and Emma Teeling who told us why the secret for ever lasting youth could lie in Bats!
Thanks to everyone at @ScienceGallery for organising such an awesome day!
