The future of fixing is here... meet FIXBOT

There's a lot of excitement amongst inventors like ourselves about amazing new technology that can help us fix and make things in entirely new and super advanced ways. What's really the future of fixing though? We suspect it's...well, you.

PS In case, like us, you fall in love with our lovely robot, we have made an Instructable that guides you through making your own Fixbot! He's open-source, modifiable, and extendable. If you get the chance to make one, be sure to send photos and share your own robot with us!

I have just started developing a fixbot that doesn't require a 3D printer. It also has ultrasound eyes to make it respond to environment changes - like the opening of a door, something being placed infront of it, etc...

I will share pics when I'm finished!

Ps: I'm only 13, so anyone can make one!

I want two please! Just in case one breaks the other one can fix it :)

Ha! We used Sugru to make that exact same fix to our refrigerator door! Apparently we're not the only ones who grab the milk out too aggressively. :)

Sorry, but i really don't see the purpose of this robot and what it could be usefull for, there's a lot of much more advanced robots out there that can do advanced tasks and emulate feelings. So what can this bot "fix" ? it can pound a piece of sugru onto somewhere but then its just waste of time when you could do it yourself in a few seconds. i guess you have to mount and program the robot first to do the pounding thing, which in my head would take more than a few seconds.. But yes, it is cool to have your own little robot. and i certainly would like one, but i don't see where this robot and sugru is linked together. Don't get me wrong i love sugru.

Hmm - a cute li'l' entity that converts broken things into things. Just like a small child -- only in reverse :-p

Hahah, how awesome.
