Woop for Halloween! The last holiday where DIY is always better than shop-bought.

That's why we love Halloween, and as it's coming up soon, it's time to get excited!

If you've used sugru mainly for fixing things so far, you may not have known how handy it can be for making stuff too.

For example, the fact that it sticks to almost anything, and is strong, waterproof and durable - makes it great for making costumes by repurposing all kinds of odd things, and then wearing them out on a cold rainy night out trick or treating!

Here are two of our favourite creations to get you started!

sugru an old tea strainer to a pair of glasses and look like Jeff Goldblum from The Fly!

To help you make your own, there's a full step-by-step instructable - you'll scare the pants off people with this really simple costume!

Use sugru and an old bike tube to turn old bones into a crazy, creepy mask

Check out this amazing mask made from, wait for it - a cow bone!

How amazing does this look?! sugru helped @janetplanet reinforce and repair the bone, and make it more comfortable to wear. Have a look at her step by step here on gurus. Scaaaaary!

So you see, costumes don't have to be made just out of fabric and cardboard, have look around the house and attic and think about what you could repurpose into a costume this halloween :)

We’ll be posting more great ideas from sugru users over the coming weeks to keep you inspired. As ever, we'd love to see your amazing work. Send us your Halloween creations to [email protected] and we’ll post the best of them here and on our Facebook page. And if you have ideas and questions in the meantime, just shout in the comments, we'd love to help!
