My Rayburn Type 1 wood burner has a bakelite handle on a lift off lid. The handle gets very hot when the wood burner is fired up and had broken into 3 bits, so i sugru-ed it together and the handle works better than new! I was so surprised by this didn't think it would handle the weight or heat. Magnus, London
