I hacked the handle of my cane, and made it more comfortable *and* prettier. The handle was varnished wood, with some of the varnish worn off. It was slippery and less than attractive, so I made it better with sugru. I blended 4 colors of sugru, using techniques from making polymer clay jewelry, until I had something that looked like semiprecious stone. I covered the handle with a thin layer, and built up and customized the grip on the lower side. I then smoothed and polished the handle with a wet finger. Sugru has just the right amount of resistance, so the handle isn't slippery, and the slight resilience absorbs some of the shock connected with constantly using the cane on concrete. Maya, USA.
