Hack your roller shutter's recoil mechanism to control its position

My shutter didn't have anything to fasten it down and as it works on a recoil mechanism, there was no way to trap it down to block the light out. I created two ringlets one attached to the blind, the other to the base of the window. By tying them together with ribbon it adds an aesthetic appeal, it also means that I can adjust the height and in-turn control the light. Sarah, Ontario.
