Repair a broken pestle - and give it a comfy grip

A couple of days ago my wife was using her mortar and pestle to grind some ingredients, but it broke when it got dropped. I wasn't sure if super glue would be able to hold it together so I decided to try some sugru. I first formed the sugru into a ball then smashed it between the two broken halves. I then smoothed out the remainder to create a nice grip on the handle and reinforce the bond. 24 hours later and the pestle was better then new. I had my doubts as to whether sugru would hold up to the stress or not, but so far it's like the pestle was never broken. By @mpilchfamily, via sugru gurus
