Repair a cracked bath panel
My bath side panel was split (and gradually spreading along the whole length) as it has been buckling and pinging back for 8?years?when?I lean against it to rinse my hair under the shower hose. I took it off to push some white sugru into the hole and?the crack from the back. When I saw how bad it had got I rolled out some green sugru (because I wouldn't see it from the front) and reinforced the whole length of the crack as well, and left it to cure. I then stuck some duct tape over the whole fix (about 2 feet long) and put the panel back - breaking the corner off in the process! Pulled it out again, fixed the corner with white Sugru (so well I can't even see the join), let it cure again and pushed it back - this time easily done as the corner flexed. I've waited a few months to see if it would hold before I?tell you all about it...and it has done the trick! The panel still buckles as I lean against it, but it rebounds with a solid thump now. Saved me buying a new bath panel. Big thumbs up! Janet, Portsmouth.
