How to hold a battery in place if you loose the cover
This is a project I did for a friend years ago. She lost the back of her phone and her battery would fall out all the time. I made a flexible sugru grip that would hold the battery in place. And because sugru is flexible, she could still pop out the battery when she needed to.
The key step to this is to rub soapy water on the battery to prevent sugru from bonding to it.
Pretty proud of the result. The flexible sugru clip keeps the battery in place but is also flexible enough to allow for the battery to be removed.
I rubbed the surface of the sugru in soapy water to get a good smooth finish
To start, I rubbed soapy water onto the battery. Soapy water is a release agent for sugru and prevents sugru from bonding to the battery.
I pressed the sugru firmly onto the phone to ensure a good bond. I then shpeed it to create the nice flexible clip.
Roisin was very pleased with how well this worked.
