REMAP + Sugru = an improved stair lift

The wonderful people at REMAP are working persistently hard to help others in need with their specialised skills and knowledge.

REMAP volunteer Rob found himself needing to find a way to adapt the control snibs of an Acorn stair lift's arm rest. This was to better suit the needs of his client, who has arthritis and dementia, and struggled with operating the stair lift as it was.

Rob quickly analysed the problem and went on to cut off and replace the short snibs with a set of longer aluminium plates and an aluminium filler.

For the new control snibs to be more friendly and comfortable to handle, he then went on to cover them with a single-use pack of Sugru each. Looks great, Rob!

REMAP are doing great work across the UK and are always happy to receive help with fund raising, as well as to hear from people interested in volunteering!
