Representing repair at SXSW: How repair can inspire creativity & change

We were so thrilled to be part of the 31st SXSW conference in Austin, Texas. It’s a festival with such a rich history of bringing together creative people to connect, share, showcase and inspire the next big ideas.  So it was a fantastic opportunity to share the amazing story of the repair community.

SXSW may have started out as a music festival, but it has quickly grown into something much more, with over 20 focus streams including film and digital.

Jane’s talk, How Repair Can Inspire Creativity & Change, was featured in a stream of talks about organisations working for social impact. The talk introduced a new audience to all the great work the grassroots, community-driven fixing movement is doing. Incredible organisations like The Restart Project and iFixit who campaign for policy change, and businesses like Vibram and Patagonia, who put repair at the heart of their operations. Then there’s the extraordinary work of Fixperts / FixEd introducing fixing as an education tool in unexpected ways.

So what are you waiting for? Watch the video and be proud to be part of this awesome community!
