Benefits of Sugru as a wood glue

Sets strong

Once set, it keeps its shape and stays stuck.

Holds up to 2kg/4.4lb

Once fully set*, a single-use pack can hold up to 600x its own weight.

Shock resistant

Excellent dampening properties provide vibration resistance and shock protection.

*Depending on the thickness of the application, for load-bearing projects, allow up to 48 hours for Sugru to fully set.

Q: What is the best way to stick Sugru to wood?

A: First create a sticky base layer by smearing a small amount of Sugru onto the surface, then apply more. Do this in one go as there is no need to wait for the base layer to set. (Sugru bonds brilliantly to itself).

  1. Take a pea-sized piece of Sugru and smudge onto the surface.
  2. Work the Sugru into the area.
  3. Add more pea-sized pieces as required.
  4. If the application needs to be flexible, only use a thin layer of Sugru.
  5. Otherwise, you can build Sugru directly onto your base layer.
  6. Ensure the edges of the applied Sugru are flush with the surface.

Q: How long does Sugru take to set on wood?

A: Once out of the pack, you have 30 minutes to fix, bond and create with Sugru. Sugru sets to 1.5mm in 12 hours, 3mm in 24 hours, and thicker applications may take 24-48 hours. Use at room temperature for the best results. Colder temperatures slow setting time.

Q: Is Sugru wood glue waterproof?

A: Sugru is waterproof. As a silicone rubber, Sugru can be used as a sealant for indoor and outdoor applications. Ensure surfaces are dry before use.
