How to create a magnetic light for kid's bedroom
My daughter wanted the light in her room closer to the bed so I Sugru'ed a magnet to the back of it so it could stick to the radiator beside her bed, and she could put it wherever she wanted.
Kit
- Kid's light
- Strong magnet
- Sugru
Step 1
This is the back of the light we got. It's designed to hang on screws as you can see. The magnet on the right is recycled from some carphone doohickey, but any strong magnet will do.
Step 2
Use Sugru to glue the magnet to the back of the light. Make sure it sticks proud of the plastic rim. If you don't want the magnet to scratch the radiator then cover it with a thin layer of Sugru (as described here).
Step 3
Ta-daa! Farmhouse now bathed in blue light.
