How to fix stairs from a Doll's House

The stairs for my daughter's doll's house are a pretty shocking design because the two sections of stairs are only held together by a single screw. This means they can pivot and collapse.

Following a spate of doll accidents and a rash of "did you injure yourself in circumstances that weren't your fault" adverts from ambulance-chasing doll lawyers on doll TV* Daddy was drafted in to fix it.

*Actual events may vary. Truth is that it was winding Daddy up. Yes, he knows he's a saddo.

Step 1

Broken doll's house from different angles being held

I'm sorry but this just winds me up. Look at it - it pivots all over the place! I think it must have been designed for the doll version of Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth or someone.

Anyway, if we dial-down my engineering sensitivities a bit the problem is that two sets of steps need to be held perpendicular to one another.

Step 2

Sugru applied to back of stairs to prevent pivoting

Pivot the two pieces into the correct orientation and press Sugru into the corners and along the edges. You don't need to do the whole thing - a few pieces should do it. This is an ideal job for leftover bits of Sugru.

Step 3

Doll's house stairs fixed with straight stairs

Done!
