Replace a rubber hood on a bicycle brake lever

Some weeks ago, a motorist decided to turn left across my path and I fell from my bicycle. I had a few cuts and bruises, the motorist got a summons but the brake/gear lever hood on my bike got torn. These soft rubber hoods are notoriously difficult to replace as the design seems to change annually. I was left with a constant chaffing on my right hand from the tear whenever I rode with my hands on the hoods.

The repair took less than 3 minutes to accomplish. I am very pleased with the result and believe that it will be a lasting fix on a bike that I use daily.
