Fix an Apple charger

For a whole year we have had an Apple charger that hasn't been charging anymore. The solution from Apple was obvious: “It is not reparable, you need another”. But now I decided to give it a try. It was necessary to break the gummy protection that fixes the cable, cut it, and re-connect the two groups of cables in it. Once done, I did isolate both ways with the red sugru. I was not very careful with the finish, as it was meant for protection only. After 24 hours I covered it with the black sugru, also replacing the original protection from Apple that used to fix the cable to the white box. I would have preferred black inside and red outside, but I’ll do it better the next time :-)
These two little envelopes of sugru have saved me €80 for a new charger!
