Modelling with sugru

Artist Dale Grimshaw recently blew our minds with this sugru castle model:

I initially made the assumption that sugru was used more for modelling things, then I looked on your website and realised it was mainly used for fixing things! Anyway, here's a model I started last Christmas & have been finishing over this one - made of sugru! Hope you like it.

I'm mainly a painter/street artist but have always liked miniature wargame models etc.
The tower is based on an English Saxon tower, which were often later accompanied with a church next to them. I made the piece over the top of a gesso painted, thick postage tube. I fleshed out the base and battlements in blue & black, then the top layer and main tower was all done in white. I used a dental pick & a carved paintbrush handle to do the sculpting.
