Repair a sailing boat shoe

It's a sailing boat shoe for the winter, I use them very often because I also race throughout the winter even when the temperature is very low (-5 ° C). the tongue of the shoe was torn and did not provide thermal resistance of the shoe, with considerable problems of cold for my foot. I used sugru to reconnect the two edges torn, the result was a full recovery of the characteristics of the thermal protection of the shoe without having any discomfort even during the downturn use most of the shoe right at the bonding.
