How to repair a leaky watering can with Sugru

When it breaks, you can Sugru it!

If your watering can breaks or starts to leak, Sugru is here to save the day! Not only is Sugru a 3D mouldable glue, so it bonds to different materials, fills in awkward gaps and puts pieces back together again, it's also waterproof! Perfect for sealing ;).

Here's how you do it

Step 1

It's best to start off with small pea sized amounts of Sugru.

We have done a little bit of colour mixing here to get this lovely pastel yellow. Why not try some colour mixing yourself? Check out our colour mixing page to get started.

Step 2

Spread the Sugru, piece by piece, around the hole. Ensure that it is sufficiently worked into the surface.

Step 3

Once you have covered around the hole make a flat sausage of Sugru to cover the hole.

Step 4

Place the flat sausage over the hole and spread the edges into the Sugru that you have already applied.

Step 5

Rub some soapy water into the surface to get a smooth finish.

Step 6

Leave to set for 12-24 hours, then it's as good as new!

Not just practical

And why not add a few gorgeous design features to your fix while you're at?
