Fix a laptop AC adapter wire

Like many people, my badly-designed MacBook AC adapter broke just when I had an important report to finish. Tearing my hair out, I looked for a repair on YouTube and found one. It was pretty ugly - and didn't look very strong either. I didn't want to spend £65 for a new adapter and I wanted a permanent solution, so after soldering the broken wires, I tried to shrink-wrap the soldered sections of the wire, but because of the heat from the soldering iron, the shrink-wrap kept shrinking before I had time to slip it over the soldered joint. I didn't want to use electrical tape, so I eventually remembered seeing Sugru on sale in my local Maplin's and so I bought a pack of 5 and put it to good use. In one fell swoop, I was able to insulate both wires (but make them look like one) and separate them from each other. What an AMAZING invention! Well done Sugru!
