Improve a badly designed wrist protector

The wrist protectors of my girlfriend's snowboard gloves hurt and cause blisters at the ball of the thumb. The reason a rivet sticking out because of the shoddy workmanship. Now I've covered over the nail and I hope everything will be fine for my girlfriend and I in the next winter.
