I purchased the watch in 2009 and paid over $400 Canadian and was not ready to buy another one as the watch was still working perfectly.

The issue was that the joints (on the watch casing) through which the watchband pin attaches the band to the casing had broken off after wear and tear over the years. These joints are molded\attached to the casing of the watch and, as such, there was no longer a way to make the pin hold onto anything.
